Wednesdays 6:30pm-7:30pm 

8/14, 8/21, 8/28, 9/4, 9/11, 9/18, 10/2, 10/16, 10/30, 11/6, 11/20, 12/4, 12/11 and holiday recital 12/15 at 3pm!!

In this class designed for children K-8 we will explore the piano: playing notes and chords, reading notation, rhythms and popular melodies, how to play with healthy technique, practicing ear training exercises and discovering that music theory can be challenging and FUN.

We will use excerpts from Sarah's own Piano Time book 1 and her multiple repertoire books, as well as Jennifer Eckland's Piano Pronto series (Resources will be included in the registration price).

Students must bring a small notebook, a three ring binder and a positive attitude to class. Together we will learn, perform, develop confidence in our musical skills, and make music friends along the way!

In this class students will learn how to read notation and rhythms, strum chords, and play dozens of songs on the ukulele. Singing along is optional, however in Sarah's decades of teaching experience, it is inevitable! As a choral and musical theater director, vocal coach and music theory and piano instructor for over twenty years, Sarah gently encourages students to develop confidence in their musical ability. Be prepared to have fun and make friends while becoming a better musician. 

Students are expected to bring their own ukuleles to class each week (reach out to Sarah at sarahbonsignore@gmail.com for affordable recommendations). She might also have one or two instruments to loan short term.

Sarah Bonsignore is a South African born American musician, teacher, composer and producer with numerous awards in performance and songwriting, and over 50 TV and film placements. Holding two degrees in music and having over 20 years of classroom teaching experience, Sarah works to inspire her students to explore their innate talent and musicality!
