Our Classes

Music Wings (grades 2-5)

This course is perfect for students (2-5) who love to sing, perform, create and play music!

Classes will run for 75 minutes, and will fall on SUNDAYS from 3:30pm - 4:45pm on 8/21, 8/28, 9/4, 9/11, 9/25, 10/9, 10/23 and dress rehearsal and pizza/movie night 10/29 5pm-8pm. Drop the students off and enjoy a night out:) Bring $5 for pizza and a drink. Halloween/Fall porch concert 3pm 10/30!!

In this course students will learn about ~

  • healthy vocal skills
  • age appropriate repertoire in unison, two and three part harmony
  • musicianship (hearing rhythm, intervals and harmony)
  • note reading and writing
  • playing close and open chords on piano, and accompanying on ukulele
  • developing performance skills
  • collaborating with others
  • developing a lifelong love of music 

Sarah Bonsignore (SPS Founder/Director) is a South African born American musician, singer songwriter, composer, educator, sync artist and producer with a masters degree in music and 25+ years of classroom teaching experience. Her music has been heard on radio and TV throughout South Africa and the US, and she is passionate about making the world a better place through the arts. She's also a mom of three boys at Lipscomb and Brentwood Middle:)

Music for Littles (18 months-4yrs)

Calendar Aug 26, 2022 at 10 am, runs for 6 weeks

In this course (designed for students aged 18 months to 4 yrs and their guardians/care givers) students will explore the magical world of music, movement, stories and art.

We will sing, notate, play instruments, read stories and create together, incorporating listening games and improvization into each class. Sarah's  "storytime songs" are designed to enhance literacy, fine and gross motor skills, imagination, attention span, memory, and a sense of wonder!

PLEASE SAVE THESE DATES as we will not meet every week due to my conference travel schedule!

10-10:45am 8/26, 9/9, 9/23, 10/7, 10/21, 10/28 and (optional) mini performance at the Fall/Halloween concert 10/30 at 2pm ~ Wear your costumes!!

October 7th we will meet from 10am-noon for a mini music and art camp and picnic!! Bring a bagged lunch, and a friend!

Fee includes music and supplies.

The music studio is located in Brentwood's Carondelet neighborhood between Church and Concord, just off Wilson Pike. Our address will be communicated after registration:)

Fridays from 5:30-6:45pm 8/26, 9/2, 9/9, 9/23, 10/7, 10/21, 10/28, rehearsal/pizza and movie night 10/29 from 5pm-8pm, and Halloween/fall concert Sunday 10/30 at 3pm!

MusicMakers (SongStarters) Gr 3-9

Calendar Aug 30, 2022 at 5:40 pm, runs for 8 weeks

Open to students in grade 3 to 9 who love to play instruments, sing, write songs, produce, perform and collaborate with others. All skill levels welcome.

5:45pm-7:15pm 8 Tuesdays 8/30, 9/6, 9/13, 9/20, 9/27, 10/4, 10/18, 10/25 and studio concert 10/30 at 3pm. Students will also have an opportunity to showcase their original songs in a round in Nashville (location/day TBD)

In this course students will work towards:

  • studying song form and arranging selected covers
  • writing and recording original songs
  • developing musicianship and sight reading skills
  • collaborating with others and giving constructive peer feedback
  • harmonizing and learning how to play simple chords and patterns on piano 
  • making work tapes and producing simple demos using logic software
  • developing confidence and performance skills
  • building a vibrant and supportive local arts community together

We will have pianos and mics setup, 2 house guitars and one bass. Please bring your own instruments/drum pad/sticks if you need to.
